New Jersey's largest ski resort has new owners and a new name, Mountain Creek. The owners spent $20 Million for improvements and it will top $50 Million within a few years. A new 8 person open-air Gondola will be introduced this year as well as 2 high speed detachable quads, 2 fixed grip quads and 2 magic carpet lifts (similar to the sidewalkers at an airport). Mountain Creek houses 4 mountains covering 168 acres with 47 Trails, 11 Lifts, a half-pipe and 1040 vertical feet. They offer day and night skiing, season passes, group discounts and many other packages. For the snowboarders, they recently added a 300 foot Halfpipe for training and showing off. MC has ski & snowboard rentals and lessons, lodge with a restaurant, full service bar, lockers, condominium rentals, a spa and country club. Hidden Valley is located right down the road from Mountain Creek. With 11 trails, it is smaller than MC but is also less crowded. They recently purchased new machinery which will increase their snowmaking by 25%. There are 5 expert trails, 3 intermediate and 3 novice. They have 100% snowmaking, ski and snowboard rentals and lessons, 1 triple and 2 double chair lifts. The lodge features a full service restaurant, cocktail lounge and a cafeteria. They also have a repair shop, boutique and lockers.

Campgaw is another small ski resort with 8 trails (3 easy, 4 intermediate and 1 advanced), 5 lifts and an all new 650 foot snowtubing hill. They have a lodge with food and a fireplace, a rental shop and a certified ski-school. This is another great place to learn to ski. Their season kicks off on December 12 and the hours are Monday - Friday 1pm to 10pm, Saturday/Holidays 9am-10pm and Sundays 9am-5pm.
